Neuropsychology & Psychology
Neuropsychology and Clinical Psychology
Clinical Neuropsychologists provide specialist assessment and treatment after brain injury, addressing aspects of cognition (mental abilities), emotional adjustment, behavioural change, and limited insight. They also facilitate rehabilitation in other areas and guide other therapists and family members when barriers arise.
Clinical Psychologists work with a variety of conditions that often arise after brain injury and traumatic injury. These include anxiety or depressive disorders, substance abuse, challenging behaviour, anger management, family therapy, and adjustment to physical conditions such as orthopaedic and spinal injuries. They undertake assessments to formulate treatment plans and work closely with the client, family, and support team.
We provide in-house Neuropsychology and Clinical Psychology services. Our psychology team has extensive experience in clinical assessment, treatment/rehabilitation, and medico-legal assessment. We offer medico-legal neuropsychology reporting provided by Dr. Andrew Harrison, a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist with extensive experience preparing reports for the Courts in Scotland and England. Dr. Harrison is regularly instructed by both sides of the litigation process, and his CV is available on request.
Dr. Harrison accepts instructions for adults who have or are suspected to have sustained an acquired brain injury or who have been diagnosed with another neurological condition resulting in neuropsychological complications. He also accepts instructions for clients who sustained an acquired brain injury in childhood and now require an assessment with a specialist in adult neuropsychology.
Dr. Harrison accepts medico-legal instructions from across the UK and conducts examinations at various locations, including our offices in Edinburgh, domiciliary visits, or at the instructing parties’ premises, depending on the needs of the client. Our fees are charged at a fixed hourly rate, with the total fee calculated on a case-by-case basis depending on the extent of medical records and other documentation for review, travel costs, etc.
All enquiries are welcome. Contact us via our website, email, or telephone.
